Our literacy specialist works with individuals and small groups of students needing extra support with reading, writing and spelling. Students receive support in literacy groups at all ability levels, providing specific instruction to bolster core skills and extend learning in reading and writing. Periodically throughout the year, all kindergarteners, first graders and second graders are assessed in literacy skill development, as well as students in grades 3-5 as needed. The information gained from these assessments is used to guide our instruction.
