One of the many highlights of the middle school advisory program is the opportunity for each advisory to continue to learn the importance of being kind, showing compassion, and having empathy for others. For example, one advisory held a canned food drive for The Haven during the holiday months. Most recently, at least three advisories have taken part in a service project that involves having our students send written messages to residents of the memory ward at Harvest Hill, a care facility in Lebanon, NH associated with Alice Peck day Memorial Hospital.
According to a member of the nursing staff at Harvest Hill, these messages have brought much happiness to the residents and have made them feel valued and cared for. These connections provide an opportunity for our students to learn that community service and giving to others is one of the greatest gifts one can give.
